
If you live in America then you’ll know that almost everyone likes eating out in restaurants and fast food outlets. More and more people are finding that it is so much easier to have your meals cooked for you than it is to make them yourself. No preparation, no cleaning the dishes, just pay your money and eat a nice meal. This is all good and well but if you are on a diet then the low carb dining options may be limited.
Of course in today’s economic situation, it isn’t as easy to eat out as often as you may once did but it’s still nice to go out once or twice a month. So what low carb dining options are available to you?
Well obviously it will depend on what type of restaurants you are visiting but most now have healthy options on the menu. You will almost always be able to order a salad or a low calorie meal. If you go to a well known restaurant like McDonald’s then they have salad options and you can even order a burger without the bun. That way you enjoy the flavours but don’t consume the calories.
Another thing you can do is ask the restaurant waiters what is contained in the meals. By doing that you will be able to see if there is anything you cannot have. Try and avoid anything that states it is deep fried, crumbed or crispy as those will almost certainly be high calorie.
So there are always low carb dining choices, it’s just a matter of planning correctly and in time. Never feel forced to order something or eat something if you don’t know what it contains. Just ask the question or order something simple. That way you can always be sure of staying within your daily carb intake limit.
